The scenery of rocky cliffs of Daeseongsan Mountain from Jeongchwiam Hermitage is as magnificent as the Sogeumgang Valley. Jeongchwiam Hermitage is a temple that was constructed by the Buddhist Monk Uisang in the 6th year of King Sinmun of Shilla. It possesses Altar Portrait of Buddha, which is designated as the Cultural Heritage Material. When one looks back on the passage that one took from the edge of the boulder, one will feel like looking down on the world from heaven. The coolness and the calmness will erase all the hardship from the mind and provide a feeling of being free from the troubles of the world. Near Jeongchwiam Hermitage is the Yulgoksa Temple built by the Buddhist Monk Wonhyo, which is told in the legend of architecture of Daeungjeon Hall, built with wooden pillows, as well as in the incomplete legend of architecture of Dancheong, which is involved with Saesinbawi Rock. Countless visitors come to these two temples all year round to feel the divinity of these two monks.
